On Thursday, Kentucky House Speaker Greg Stumbo announced he has appointed the House Task Force on Child Abuse and Exploitation Prevention, which will examine and propose omnibus legislation designed to protect Kentucky’s children.
“I cannot comprehend how anyone could even think of abusing a child,” said House Speaker Stumbo. “I have dedicated my career in public service… to making sure our children have all they need, and at the top of that list is their safety.” The bipartisan task force will be comprised of legislators who have championed legislation in the past designed to protect children. The goal is to close any potential loopholes to further prevent and exploitation. The task force is scheduled to hold its first meeting on October 20th.
