Kentucky Supreme Court to Convene Next Week

The Kentucky Supreme Court will convene October 13 and 14 in Frankfort to hear oral arguments in cases that originated in Fayette, Hardin, Jefferson, McCracken and Rockcastle counties. Of the cases being heard, one involves whether a city ordinance banning the practice of begging or soliciting on public streets or at intersections of public streets constitutes a violation of free speech and whether such an ordinance can impose criminal penalties for its violation. Proceedings are open to the public and will take place in the Supreme Court Courtroom on the second floor of the state Capitol. A Supreme Court live stream will also be available for viewing on the Kentucky Court of Justice website.
