60 Regulations Proposed for Repeal

Governor Bevin’s Red Tape Reduction initiative continues, with 60 suggested repeals and multiple amendments being considered by the legislative committee overseeing administrative regulation requests. Proposals considered today are from the cabinets of Transportation, Public Protection, Education, Workforce Development and Health and Family Services. The Transportation Cabinet is proposing more than 30 repeals, with some regulations becoming unnecessary due to state law, several outdated due to the availability of websites, and a 1975 regulation that is nearly unenforceable. Ann Dangelo, assistant general counsel for the Transportation Cabinet, said the review process is “making [them] more efficient and customer-focused.”
