Kentucky Transportation Cabinet Secretary Issues Emergency Order for Drivers

Kentucky Transportation Cabinet Secretary Greg Thomas issued an emergency order Monday waiving the hours of service for commercial motor vehicle operators delivering petroleum in Kentucky. The order is in response to a gasoline pipeline explosion in rural Shelby County, Alabama. The order temporarily relieves drivers of commercial motor vehicle restrictions on hours of service while they are transporting petroleum in Kentucky. Drivers are required to have a copy of the order in the truck cab if delivering petroleum beyond their normal hours of service. Kentucky’s emergency order will expire on November 22 at midnight.
