A nurse aide from Mountain Manor of Paintsville has been recognized for his caregiving. At this year’s Kentucky Association of Healthcare Facilities Statewide Quality Awards Banquet there were top ten countdowns of the best of Kentucky’s nursing, supportive caregiving, and caregiving in Kentucky’s long-term care facilities. At number one among caregivers was nurse aide Shawn Grimm of Mountain Manor of Paintsville who was singled out for touching many lives. Grimm said he just tried to communicate with them and make a big impact on them. Including sitting with a dying resident in a local hospital, holding hands in the final days, Mountain Manor staggers showed up on the top ten lists for nursing and supportive care as well. This year’s facility of the year is Oakmont Manor of Flatwoods in the final year of the competition.
