The Floyd County Chamber of Commerce held a networking luncheon meeting on Tuesday, November 15, 2016. The guest speaker was Kelley McPhail, Director of Donor Recruitment, with the Kentucky Blood Center. McPhail explained that KBC relies on volunteer blood donors to provide over 400 pints of blood per day to meet area patients’ needs. She added that “blood donations are a constant need and can only come from donors.” She emphasized the majority of the blood donations come from blood drives organized and hosted by businesses, churches, schools and community organizations. More information and scheduled blood drives can be found at kybloodcenter.org.
