On Monday, December 5, the Hazard Police Department began serving 19 indictment warrants from the Perry County Grand Jury. The charges stem from a six month long, undercover narcotics investigation and all but one involve trafficking in drugs. 11 of the 19 suspects were arrested and officers continue to look for the other individuals. Other charges faced by the 11 are possession of controlled substance, marijuana, and paraphernalia, and one faces a charge of trafficking within 1,000 feet of a school.
