The Ashland Board of Commissioners approved the acceptance of canned food to offset Parking Citations from December 9-23. Persons who have unpaid parking citations issued by the City of Ashland may bring canned food to APD headquarters until 5pm on December 23. Each can brought in is a $1 credit toward your parking fine. This allows citizens to pay off parking tickets with food in lieu of cash. All canned goods go towards Christmas food baskets at River Cities Harvest. The Ashland Police Department notes that this does not apply to Kentucky Uniform Citations.
