Unemployment rates were down in 119 Kentucky counties between November 2015 and November 2016. Magoffin County had the highest unemployment rate in the state with 12.2 percent, the first time since December 2007 only one county a double-digit unemployment rate. The county with the lowest jobless rate in the state was Woodford County, with 2.6 percent. Counties in our listening area, including Floyd, Pike, Lawrence, Knott, Leslie, Harlan, and Clay Counties, had unemployment rates between 9.5 and 7.8 percent.
