Governor Matt Bevin appointed administrative law judges within the Department of Workers’ Claims. Christina Hajjar, of Ashland, has represented employers in workers’ compensation litigation since 2007. Monica Rice-Smith, of Hyden, has practiced workers’ compensation law for 16 years on behalf of both employees and employers. Both judges will serve terms ending December 31, 2019. Labor Cabinet Secretary Derrick K. Ramsay applauded all of the appointments, saying Governor Bevin has appointed well-qualified men and women to serve as workers’ compensation administrative law judges. He added their diverse backgrounds allow them a thorough understanding of the system in Kentucky.
