Retired Prestonsburg Surgeon Passes Away

Dr. William B. Cook, 84, formerly of Prestonsburg passed away Wednesday, December 28, 2016. Dr. Cook served as Chief of Surgery at Prestonsburg General Hospital from 1965 until 1972 when he became Chief of surgery at Highlands Regional Medical Center. He helped to found the hospital and served on the surgical staff until his retirement. A memorial service will be held at Kerr Brothers Funeral Home in Lexington at noon Friday, January 6, 2017.
