Governor Matt Bevin and Cabinet for Economic Development Secretary Terry Gill were at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit on January 11 to speak with automotive industry officials and promote the Commonwealth. Governor Bevin said they were promoting Kentucky as the top location for automotive engineering, manufacturing, and distribution. He added the state’s new pro-business laws were well received by vehicle manufacturers and suppliers. Kentucky is the number-one vehicle producing state per capita and among the top vehicle producers in the United States, with new expansion projects projected to create nearly 3,200 new full-time jobs.
