Students Sent Home from Louisa East Elementary With Rash

Twenty students were sent home from Louisa East Elementary School Tuesday after getting rashes. Superintendent Dr. Robbie Fletcher said the rashes were first reported after lunchtime. It’s unknown if the cause was environmental or contracted from other students, but precautions were taken and extra custodians were called in to clean and sanitize the building. Fletcher said the air filters were also changed just to make sure it wasn’t something airborne. Parents of affected students were asked to take their children to the doctor to find out what may have been the cause.
