On Tuesday, January 31, 2017, Floyd County Sheriff John Hunt and Deputies executed a search warrant at a residence on RT 979 in the Ligon Community. The search warrant was the result of a two month drug investigation which stemmed from the sheriff’s office anonymous tip line. During the investigation, several visits were made to the residence of Dustin Stanley, where illegal drugs were purchased. During their search, deputies, with K9 Lita, found drugs, guns, money, and drug paraphernalia. Stanley, 31, is charged with trafficking, possession, and endangering the welfare of a minor. Michael Tackett was also charged with trafficking in synthetic drugs. Both were lodged in the Floyd County Jail.
