A white nationalist group is planning a rally in Floyd and Pike counties in April. A release posted to the Traditionalist Worker Party began circulating on Facebook on Wednesday with their intention to hold an event April 28 at Jenny Wiley State Park. Kentucky State Parks issued a statement on the matter, saying that while they can’t discriminate against the group’s First Amendment rights, they will have to file a new contract as the original contract was for a family reunion. State Parks officials said they would monitor the situation closely. State Senator Ray Jones also took to social media, saying he will draft a resolution condemning the event to be filed today.
