Knox County Man with Concealed Handgun Arrested in Wildcat Market

On Tuesday, February 14, around 5am, Knox County Deputy Mikey Ashurst responded to a complaint of a man having a handgun inside the game room at the Wildcat Market in Flat Lick. After arriving at the Wildcat Market and contacting individuals, Deputy Ashurst identified the man and learned he had a handgun hidden in the waistband of his pants. When Deputy Ashurst confronted the man, he attempted to reach for the handgun. The deputy grabbed the man’s hand and removed the handgun from his waistband. Stanton Peace, 29, of Artemus, was charged with carrying a concealed deadly weapon, public intoxication, and violation of an EPO. He was lodged in the Knox County Detention Center.
