The Van Lear Coal Miners’ Museum will be holding the 8^th Annual Van Lear Chili Cook-Off on Saturday, February 18. Each entry is $10 to compete in categories of regular and wild game chili. All chili will be used for dinners, which will be sold for $5.00. Contestants must bring at least 2 quarts of chili. Prizes will be awarded for 1^st, 2^nd, and 3^rd place winners. Signup will be from 3pm to 4pm, with judging beginning at 4:15pm. All proceeds will go to the Van Lear Historical Society.
