On Monday, February 20, between 3:30 and 4pm, a flatbed truck owned by Highway District 12 contractor George B. Stone Company caught fire while parked in the work zone on the shoulder of US 460 at mile marker 21, just east of East Ridge High School in Pike County. According to inspector Brady Conn, the truck was part of a crew installing curve warning signs. No one was injured and traffic was stopped until the fire was extinguished. An electrical issue with an air compressor mounted on the front of the truck is believed to be the cause of the fire.
