A Pulaski County man is now facing federal drug charges after being arrested as the result of a four month investigation. Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office, Kentucky State Police and others had been looking into a heroin distribution going on in the county. Adwele Hammond, 37, has been charged with trafficking large amounts of the drug. Hammond led police on a chase before being stopped in an Oakhill Road parking lot. He told officers he had consumed the drug and was taken to a hospital for treatment. A search warrant of his home on Beecher Street turned up more than half an ounce of what was suspected to be the drug as well as one firearm. Hammond was revealed to have a large criminal record in both Kentucky and Ohio.
