A home in Auxier caught fire early Thursday morning. The home, located at John Bays Branch, was completely engulfed in flames around 4:30am. The Auxier Volunteer Fire Department was on the scene attempting to extinguish the flames. Captain Judy Greer said no one was inside the residence at the time of the fire. She said the owner, Glen Powers, JR, a member of the fire department, has been out of town this week. An inspector was called in to determine the cause of the fire, but said they would have to come back next week as the area was still too hot.
