Johnson County Sheriff’s Department Investigating Counterfeit Bills

On Saturday, March 11, the Johnson County Sheriff’s office received a complaint of counterfeit $50 bills. Deputy Tim Clark received information that a person suspected of passing the bills was located at the Bull Creek Trade Center in Prestonsburg. The sheriff’s office is now in possession of approximately $1000 in fake money. The Johnson County Sheriff’s Office is working with Kentucky State Police to investigate the source of the counterfeit money.
