At the State Governor’s Cup Competition in Louisville, Allen Central Middle School’s quick recall team became the first middle school quick recall team in Floyd County Schools to reach the state level, advancing to the quarterfinals and tying for 5^th place. The Allen Central Middle School Academic Team placed 12^th overall in the state. Preston Crase of South Floyd placed 4^th in General Knowledge at the competition as well.

This was Crase’s third consecutive year advancing to state, where he placed 10^th in General Knowledge and in the top 20 in the state for social studies.
