A serious injury traffic crash occurred on Laurel River Church road around 8:09pm Monday, March 20, 2017. The investigating deputies report that apparently a black colored Chevrolet SUV was traveling southbound when the vehicle traveled out of control, leaving the roadway, striking two mailboxes, then overturning into a creek on its side. Both the driver, Jared Mailcoat, 26, and the passenger, Crit Solomon, 19, were ejected from the vehicle. Both were airlifted to UK Medical Hospital for treatment. The cause of the crash is still being investigated.
