On Friday, March 24, Laurel County Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to a domestic violence complaint off Jaw road. Rodney Merida, 44 of Old Hare Road in East Bernstadt, for fourth degree assault. While at the location, Melissa Mills, 41 of Barbourville, was also arrested on a bench warrant for failure to appear in court on charges of operating a motor vehicle under the influence and no license. Bother were lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.
