Six Floyd County Students Selected for Kentucky Governor’s Scholar Program

Six Floyd County students have been selected for the Kentucky Governor’s Scholar Program, an enhanced summer learning program for students going into their senior year of high school. The students selected are Dawson Stephens and Jason Blake Warrens from Allen Central High School, Joseph Meade from Betsy Layne High School, Allison Paige Lemaster and William Patton from Prestonsburg High School, and Cameron Howell from South Floyd High School. The process for selection in the program is detailed and competitive. Students may also receive scholarships that average more than $60,000, depending on the college/ university the student selects.
