Weekend Rains Cause Mudslide in Floyd County

A mudslide occurred on Sunday, April 23 on KY 979, Eula Hall Highway, at Freel Tackett Drive. The mudslide covered one lane and part of another lane between mile points 12 and 13 in the Mud Creek area of Floyd County. Superintendent Garland Rogers said the crew from Minnie Maintenance would take most of the day to clean it up, as more material continued sliding down the hillside. Drivers were asked to take alternative routes as it was unknown when it will be safe to let traffic through.
