USA Drone Port Project Being Developed in Hazard

On Monday, April 24, local organizations in Hazard, including the Hazard Community and Technical College, announced plans for a drone port in Hazard. This major economic development project will involve drones, unmanned vehicles, and robotics, with several land and aquatic sites being considered for the USA Drone Port: National Unmanned Robotic Research and Development Center. The sites will allow for drone research, testing, training, advanced manufacturing and education. The proposed port will have a 3,500 feet runway, along with facilities for inventors, technicians, students, and manufacturers to work.
