Floyd County Schools 31st Young Authors Celebration

Over 300 students, parents, family members, and educators attended the Floyd County Schools’ 31st Young Authors Celebration on Sunday, April 23 at Jenny Wiley State Park’s Wilkinson/Stumbo Convention Center. The Young Authors Program is a writing program for students in Kindergarten to eighth grade. Eight county winners from each grade level were chosen from almost 400 books. Board of Education Chair Sherry Robinson says they believe that the Floyd County Young Authors program is the only one of its kind in the state and they are proud of all of the talented writers. Superintendent Dr. Henry Webb also thanked school coordinators for making the program successful each year.
