Floyd County Principals Give Back

Floyd County Schools Superintendent Dr. Henry Webb has announced the list of seniors receiving scholarships from the Floyd County Principal’s Association. The Floyd County Principal Association is a local organization of school principals and assistant principals. It was started to help increase professional opportunities and to improve educational opportunities for students, staff and school administrators. This is the fifth year the association has been providing scholarships for Floyd County seniors. Scholarships are funded through dues paid by school administrators. The recipients are Hannah Depoy, Lucas George, and Reece Ison of Prestonsburg High School; Jazmyn Elswick, Brantley Johnson, and Kailey Shannon of South Floyd High School; Hannah Halbert and Lauryn Stumbo of Allen Central High School; and Nicholas Scott Stevens of Betsy Layne High School. The association offers a one-time $500 scholarship annually. Typically, four scholarships are given, but this year they were able to provide nine scholarships to Floyd County senior students.
