Rogers Continues to Block Fees on Lake Cumberland Water Supply

U.S. Representative Hal Rogers is continuing to block fees on Lake Cumberland Water Supply. The 2017 Omnibus Appropriations bill, which will fund the federal government through September 30, includes language to prohibit the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers from completing a Water Reallocation Study for Lake Cumberland. The Corps’ study was scheduled to conclude by 2018, resulting in new fees for all surrounding communities that utilize the water. Congressman Rogers has blocked funding for the study since 2013. He said in a statement that he is working to protect small communities around Lake Cumberland from unaffordable fees that could bankrupt their small communities.
