On May 3, at approximately 2pm, Knox County Sheriff’s Department responded to a complaint at a residence on KY 229 in Bailey Switch. The female caller stated she had returned home finding her back door open and an unknown male passed out in her bed. Upon arrival, deputies observed the male, identified as 31-year-old Kevin Malone, still asleep in the bed. While investigating, deputies located several plastic baggies containing suspected marijuana, crystal meth, crack cocaine, 23 Gabapentin tablets, a set of digital scales, and over $4000  in cash. A loaded hangun was also recovered from his vehicle. Malone was charged with trafficking and possession of controlled substance, burglary, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
