The Johnson County Sheriff’s Office is reminding citizens that they will be cracking down on the county ordinance concerning garbage pickup due to rising concerns over illegal dumps and littering throughout the county. In Johnson County, each dwelling is required to have some sort of garbage pickup or must show proof their garbage was disposed of in a legal manner. It is also a felony to dump trash. Failure to comply with the ordinance or state laws regarding public accumulation of rubbish will result in a citation and court date.
