What began as a routine traffic stop yesterday in Bell County turned into a high speed chase. Pineville Police received a tip about a driver possibly under the influence and detective Kevin Goodin eventually pulled over Robert Bidingmyer. After giving his license to Goodin, the driver then took off driving in the northbound lanes of US 25E. Several vehicles were used to stop the driver. When officers attempted to get his keys, he took off again striking a Walmart truck in the process. The chase finally came to an end on Highway 25E in Middlesboro. Witnesses said once Bidlingmyer’s truck was stopped for the final time, he still didn’t make it easy on the officers apprehending him. He now faces multiple charges including assault on a corrections employee.
