Big Sandy Community and Technical College respiratory therapy program graduates earned a 100% pass rate on their national board examination and all are employed at Pikeville Medical Center. Melissa Skeens, respiratory therapy program coordinator at BSCTC, said she is extremely proud of their students, adding the program is student focused and results driven. Recent graduates Kiersten Woods Shurtleff, Kendra Kidd, Justin Robinson, Kristen Hall and Indya Williamson are all employed at Pikeville Medical Center. Skeens said it is important that instructors also provide service that help graduates find jobs, as well as teach.
