Reds down Minnesota 11-7 last night

The early innings of last night’s Cincinnati/Minnesota game saw a flurry of runs from both teams. The Reds eventually held off the Twins, 11-7 to win the opening game of the interleague series. The Reds had been swept by the Mets and scored only four runs in the past three games, but built a 9-1 lead through three innings last night. Eugenio Suarez had a two run double, and Joey Votto hit a two run single against Alex Meyer. Every single position player had at least one hit in the game, including Tucker Barnhardt who went 4 for 5. Game 2 of the series gets underway tonight at 7:10pm at Great American Ballpark in Cincinnati. Anthony DeSclafani will get the start for the Reds, while Phil Hughes will start for Minnesota.
