Laurel County Deputy Brandon Broughton responded to a two vehicle crash on KY 80 around 11am Friday, August 4. A silver Oldsmobile Cutlass, driving by Larry Smith, 54, was traveling westboung on KY 80 when it rounded a curve and could not avoid a stopped garbage truck picking up garbage there. Smith’s passenger, Regina Smith, 42, was injured and transported to ST. Joseph Hospital of London for treatment. Two female juvenile passengers were also injured. The driver of the garbage truck was uninjured.
