On Sunday, October 22, 2017, Laurel County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a report of a vehicle hitting a pedestrian on Lily Road. The accident occurred around 7:28pm near the intersection of KY 1006 and resulted in a fatality. The investigating deputies reported a four Honda vehicle, traveling eastbound on KY 1006 and turned onto Lily road to travel south bound when a pedestrian apparently attempted to cross the roadway there and was struck by the vehicle. Deputies noted that it was dark at the scene of the crash. The driver, Trevor Angel, 19 of London, was not injured. The pedestrian, Paul Thomas, 64 of London, was transported to St. Joseph Hospital London where he was pronounced deceased.
