An injury traffic crash occurred on Ky 1394 in Laurel County on Wednesday, November 8, around 5:15pm. Deputy Travis Napier reports a 2005 Chevrolet Malibu was traveling westbound when apparently an animal ran in front of the vehicle’s path, causing the driver to swerve and run off the roadway, striking a fence and a barn. A passenger, Karen Napier, was trapped in the vehicle and had to be extracted. She and the driver, Mary Napier, were airlifted to UK Medical Center in Lexington for treatment of injuries.
