The Mountain Arts Center staff and board of directors, along with the City of Prestonsburg and Big Sandy Community and Technical College held their 2nd annual gala on Thursday, November 2, 2017 to recognize their corporate sponsors, highlight accomplishments, and showcase future plans and projects. MAC Executive Director Clayton Case addressed those in attendance with a presentation of the highlights of the past year. He said they had 51 ticketed events and foot traffic near 96,000. Case also noted several facility and technology upgrades have been completed, including wireless microphones and lighting upgrades. Prestonsburg Mayor Les Stapleton praised the MAC for their current plans, saying they have the potential to be the epicenter of country music and music education in the country.
