The morning of Tuesday, November 14, 2017, Prestonsburg Mayor Les Stapleton signed the deed for Prestonsburg’s future community center. The community center was announced in September at a community forum meeting. Plans are to renovate the former Music Carter Hughes building to be fit with basketball courts, party rooms, and a movie theatre. A field house will also be built with indoor football field and walking track. Now that the deed has been signed, the next step is looking for funding to complete the project.
