Officials in Salyersville are looking at the road construction with great anticipation.

Magoffin County Judge Executive Charles Hardin says that the 1 million cars a year that pass down the mountain parkway are good for business, and that number is projected to rise to 1.5 million. Salyersville Mayor, James Shepherd, laments that some businesses will have to close due to road expansion, but believes that all the others in town will boom.
