With temperatures soaring, doctors warn that some people may be at higher risks for strokes or heat exhaustion. Dr. Michael Kilkenny, who is the Physician director with Cabell-Huntington Heath department, people who are taking medicine for high blood pressure are at a higher risk because the medicine encouraged dehydration and dilates your blood vessels. He emphasizes that you should not stop taking your medicine, but to plan accordingly for the heat.
