On Friday, February 2, 2018, the Johnson County Sheriff’s Department received multiple 911 calls regarding a reckless drive in a white Cadillac on KY 201. Deputy JP Primm responded to the call and located the vehicle on 201 near KY 1559 and conducted a traffic stop. Deputy J. Mullins arrived to assist and noticed the operator of the vehicle, identified as Larry Burton, had blood shot eyes and slurred speech. A field sobriety test was conducted and Burton was determined to be under the influence. Consent was granted for a search of the vehicle, which uncovered drug paraphernalia, three large baggies of suspected methamphetamine and a small orange pill believed to be suboxone. Burton was arrested and charged with DUI, possession of controlled substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
