A new recovery center has opened its doors in Knott County. The Hickory Hills facility is designed to give 100 residents an opportunity to recover from their addiction in a supportive and judgment free environment. Mary Mead-McKenzie, who is the executive director of Kentucky River  Regional Community Care Inc., described the project as a housing initiative, not a substance abuse center.
