On Monday, July 2nd, Louisville area elected officials and house democratic leadership voiced their support for Friday’s federal court ruling blocking Governor Bevin’s proposed Medicaid waiver. The event, held in front of a Family Health Center’s clinic on Muhammad Ali Blvd, was coordinated by state representative Joni Jenkins of Shively. Rep Jenkins said that in light of the sudden removal of dental and vision benefits over the weekend, there are further questions about the impact that decision might have on those with chronic illnesses or made appointments weeks, if not months ago. A representative with Kentucky HEALTH, released a statement stating they are working through impacts of the Judge’s order.
