Knox County Man Arrested for Burglary, Assault and Kidnapping Charges

On Friday, July 6, 2018, around 8:05am, Knox County Deputy Claude Hudson responded to a burglary, assault and kidnapping complaint at a residence on HWY 459 near Walker Park. During the investigation, it was learned that an individual, identified as 29-year-old Rickie Ledford, had allegedly broken into the victim’s residence while armed with a handgun. Ledford allegedly struck a female victim, who was identified as his ex-girlfriend, in the head with the handgun during a physical altercation. The suspect reportedly took the male and female victims to his mother’s residence on School Street in Barbourville, and the male victim called 911 after being released. Around 10:15am, Knox County deputies located and arrested Ledford, who was hidden inside a bedroom closet, armed with the handgun. The injured female victim was transported to the hospital for treatment. During the arrested, Ledford was found in possession of a plastic bag containing suspected methamphetamine and a syringe was located. He was lodged in the Knox County Detention Center.
