Deputies in an Eastern Kentucky Community warn the public about a new scam. Individuals in Lawrence County have been receiving calls from an entity pretending to be the IRS, and threatening arrest or lawsuits for nonpayment of back taxes. Another scammer has pretended to be the Humana Insurance agency requesting the individual call them back at a separate number to validate their information. Deputies warn that these both are scams, and no one should give their personal information over the phone unless they are 100 percent sure who they are speaking to.
