Runners brave the weather for charity!

This weekend’s adverse weather didn’t stop a group of dedicated runners from supporting a good cause. On Saturday evening the Prestonsburg High School Lady Blackcats held their 5k glow run to raise money and awareness for Cerebral Palsy. Kim Burchett’s daughter Nichole is a member of the basketball team, but her younger daughter Livia has lived with Cerebral Palsy and its side effects for 10 years. According to Kim the turnout was amazing, and the money will be going to a good cause. The athletes were not the only ones who showed out, local photographers and entertainers gathered at the downtown stage to make sure that this charitable event went on in spite of the weather. Kim says that this event was close to her heart and hopes that others were enlightened by the event. The team is counting the event a success, and will be sending a good donation to their charity.
