KYTC District 12 Conducting Rockfall Threat Removal in Floyd County

The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet District 12 will begin working to remove rockfall threats on US 23 in Ivel beginning at 9am on Monday, March 25, 2019. Mary Westfall-Holbrook, District 12’s Chief District Engineer, said the removal may cause smaller rocks, tress, bushes, and other material to come down on the roadway. She added that the work be above the roadway and motorists will not be able to see the crews working. There will be unplanned traffic stops, and speeds will be reduced to 45 miles per hours. The unplanned traffic stops will continue throughout the week during the hours of 9am until dark each day.
