A Flat Woods woman has been sentenced for heroin trafficking. On Monday, April 8, 2019, 26-year-old Kimberly Dawn Moore was sentenced to 120 months in federal prison for conspiracy to distribute heroin. In August 2017, the Huntington FBI Task Force, in conjunction with the Kentucky State Police and the Ashland Police Department, seized 876 grams of heroin. The heroin had been transported from Detroit to Huntington, West Virginia, as part of a conspiracy involving Moore and her co-defendants, Eric Minter and Leonard Wright, which ranged from June 2017 to August 2017. Moore had two prior convictions for drug trafficking in the Greenup Circuit Court.
